Darfur Union in the UK: Successful Meeting with Waging Peace in Leicester
   
A successful meeting was held in Leicester on Tuesday, the 24th April 2017 between executive members of the Darfur Union in the UK and Waging Peace organisation at the premises of Sudanese/Darfur Association in Leicester. 

The meeting was productive and did focus on reviewing the work between the two organisations over the year 2016/2017 and future plans and collaborations. Furthermore, the two organisations discussed ways and methods to promote the just case of Sudan in Darfur, ICC, community outreach etc…

The day also involved introducing Waging Pease members to some of the exe. members of the Darfur Association in Leicester and ways in which WP can help the women group and others in the city. 
The Association Cafeteria/Canteen chefs provided delicious lunch with variety of dishes reflecting the diversity of the Sudanese cuisine. Below is a list of dishes prepared by the Chefs:-

Dishes

1) Asida with margarin + Tagalia curry 

2) Bean with feta cheese, sesame oil, salads, cumin and green chilli – Ful Masri

3) Samosa (filled with minced lamb meat Geema – potato cooked, veggies and meat)

4) Lentil soup cooked with a cocktail of spices 

5) Traditional Sudanese Haggis curry

6) Okra curry 

7) Rice with roast lamb chops and Potato curry 
Drinks

1) Sudanese traditional tea with mint leaves and cardamons 

2) Sudanese traditional coffee prepared with roasted ginger
